Open Play

GLP Open Play

All skill levels welcome — GLP reserves courts for open play from late March to early October, weekday evenings and weekend mornings.

Green Lake Pickleball reserves courts for open pickleball play — all skill levels welcome — from late March to early October during peak hours: roughly 5:30 PM until dark on weekday evenings and 10:00 AM to noon on weekends and holidays.

Play is free. Player donations support our expenses — court reservations, balls, nets, and maintenance equipment — and your active participation is what sustains the unique pickleball community at Green Lake.

How games rotate

Open play uses GLP's skill-based paddle-stacking system: stack your paddle at your self-rated skill level and rotate in as courts open. It keeps games fun and competitive for everyone, from first-timers to tournament players.

The unreservable court

Tennis court #3 (pickleball courts 3N and 3S) — closest to the lake — is held outside Seattle Parks and Recreation's reservation system for open play at all times. During peak hours GLP practice is to occupy court #3 first. If you arrive and a court is occupied by tennis players, simply lean a spare paddle on the net to claim the court when their allotted time is over (1 hour for singles, 1½ hours for doubles).

Grab a paddle. We'll see you at the lake.

Open play for all skill levels, no membership — just show up, stack your paddle, and rotate in.
